ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ : ਭਾਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀਸ਼ੀਲ ਲੇਖਕ ਸੰਘ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਦ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਦੇ ਗਏ। ਉਰਦੂ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਗੰਗਾ-ਜਮਨੀ ਤਹਿਜ਼ੀਬ ਦਾ ਸੁਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਮੁਦੱਈ ਸੀ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਦ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗਰਾਜ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਪਿੰਡ ‘ਕਰਾਰੀ’ ‘ਚ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਅਲਾਹਾਬਾਦ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਕਰਨ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ੳਰਦੂ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਣੀ ਬਣੇ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਐਮ.ਏ. (ਉਰਦੂ) 1977, ਐਮ.ਫ਼ਿਲ 1978 ਅਤੇ ਪੀਐਚ.ਡੀ. (1983) ਦੀਆਂ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 1993 ਤੋਂ 1998 ਤੱਕ ਜ਼ਾਕਿਰ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਪੀ.ਜੀ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ।
ਉਹ 1998 ਈ. ‘ਚ ਉਰਦੂ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਤੌਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਧਿਆਪਕ ਆ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਦਰਜਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਐਚ.ਡੀ. ਦੀ ਉਪਾਧੀ ਲਈ ਨਿਗਰਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਰਦੂ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਮੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਹਨ : ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਮੁਸਤਸ਼ਕਚੀਨ ਔਰ ਤਾਰੀਖ਼-ਇ-ਅਦਬ-ਇ ਉਰਦੂ (1992), ਕਲਾਸਕੀਅਤ ਔਰ ਰੂਮਾਨਵੀਅਤ (1999), ਜਾਫ਼ਰ ਜੱਟਲੀ ਕੀ ਏਹਤਜਾਜੀ ਸ਼ਾਇਰੀ (2000), ਏਫ਼ਹਾਮ-ਓ-ਤਫ਼ਹੀਮ (2000) ਅਤੇ ਉਰਦੂ ਕਾ ਦਾਸਤਾਨਵੀ ਅਦਬ (ਸੰਪਾ. 2011) ਉਰਦੂ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਛਪਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੋਜ-ਨਿਬੰਧ ਸੌ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਹਨ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ (ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਲੇਖ) ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਚ ਤਰਜਮਾ ਹੋਏ। ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੇਖਕ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਬੁੱਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਦ ਦੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀਸ਼ੀਲ ਲੇਖਕ ਲਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਾਟਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
