ਦਰਅਸਲ, ਪਿਛਲੇ 6 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ‘ਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਚੋਣ ਦੌੜ ‘ਚ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਆਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ‘ਚ ਬਿਡੇਨ ਨੇ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ‘ਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਂਡ ਕਮਲਾ ਹੈਰਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਕਮਲਾ ਹੈਰਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਦਲਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਵੇਖਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਮਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦੇਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਜੁੱਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਟੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਟਰੰਪ ਇੱਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਨੇਤਾ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਡੀਪ ਸਟੇਟ’ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
