‘ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਕੈਟਰੀਨਾ ਕੈਫ’
ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 27 ਜਨਵਰੀ 1993 ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ‘ਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ 16-17 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ‘ਕੈਟਰੀਨਾ’ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਕੈਟਰੀਨਾ ਕੈਫ’ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਡਲਿੰਗ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁੱਝੀ, ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆ, ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਬੈਚਲਰ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਕਈ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਵੀਡੀਓਜ਼ ‘ਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ‘ਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਸਾਲ 2015 ‘ਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ‘ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ’ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਬਰਾੜ ਨੇ ਗਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਐਲਬਮ ‘ਮਾਝੇ ਦੀ ਜੱਟੀ’ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰੀ ਸੰਧੂ ਦੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ‘ਹੋਲੀ-ਹੋਲੀ’ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਐਕਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ‘ਚ ਆਈ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਘਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਰ ਰਾਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ‘ਚ ਕਾਫੀ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਲੜਾਈ-ਝਗੜੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੈਂ ਘਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਮੇਰੀ ਲੋਕਪ੍ਰਿਅਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਣ ਸੀ।ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ‘ਬਿੱਗ ਬੌਸ 13’ ਤੋਂ ਬੰਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੀ, ਸ਼ੋਅ ‘ਚ ਸਿਧਾਰਥ ਸ਼ੁਕਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਬ ਪਸੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ੋਅ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵੀ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਦੋਸਤ ਰਹੇ, ਪਰ ਸਿਧਾਰਥ ਸ਼ੁਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
