Punjabi news, reported from British Columbia.
TV Punjab has broadcast in Punjabi since 2013 and is operated by Ubiq Broadcasting Corp. from Surrey, British Columbia. Our newsroom covers the communities of the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley first, then Canada, India and the wider diaspora.
Our commitment is narrow and specific: we do not run wire copy under our own byline, we name our sources unless naming them puts someone at risk, and we publish corrections at the same prominence as the original story. Every piece of original reporting carries a note explaining how it was reported and what we could not confirm.
We are funded by reader subscriptions, advertising and carriage fees. Nothing we publish is paywalled — a subscription is support, not access. No political party, candidate or government body holds equity in Ubiq Broadcasting Corp.
Our journalists are employed at arm’s length from any interest they cover. Editorial decisions are made in the newsroom alone: no advertiser, sponsor or carriage partner sees a story before publication or has any say in what we cover. Sponsored material is labelled as such and is never written by our reporters.

How we report
Verification
Two sources, or a document
A contested factual claim needs two independent sources or a document we have seen ourselves. We do not publish on the basis of a screenshot or a forwarded message alone.
Wire and aggregation
No wire copy under our byline
Material from a news agency or another outlet is credited to that outlet. Our bylines appear only on reporting our own journalists did.
Corrections
Fixed in the open
Errors are corrected at the same prominence as the original story and logged with the date. Write to contact@tvpunjab.com with the headline and what is wrong.
Ownership
Who owns TV Punjab

Ubiq Broadcasting Corp. is a Canadian-controlled corporation and is the applicant for designation as a Qualified Canadian Journalism Organization. It is not owned or controlled, in whole or in part, by any government, political party, candidate or foreign entity, and we publish our ownership structure annually.
