ਡੈਸਕ- ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਮੇਅਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਵੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਚੋਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਨਿਲ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਕੌਂਸਲਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਟਸਐਪ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੇਅਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਲਈ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਨੋਟੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਦੇਸ਼ ‘ਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ‘ਚ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ I.N.D.I.A ਅਤੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ। ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ, I.N.D.I.A. ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣੇ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਆਪ’ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਾ 144 ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ 600 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਵਾਨ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਗੇਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ 200 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੇਠ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਮੇਅਰ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੰਨੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਅਤੇ ‘ਆਪ’ ਦੇ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਖੁੱਸਣ ਦਾ ਖਤਰਾ ਹੈ।
