Victoria-ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੋਪ ’ਚ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਹੋਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ’ਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਫਰੈਜ਼ਰ ਵੈਲੀ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਡਿਟੈਚਮੈਂਟ ਆਰ. ਸੀ. ਐਮ. ਪੀ. ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਕਰੀਬ 3 ਵਜੇ ਹੋਪ ਦੇ ਸੈਂਟ ਐਲਮੋ ਰੋਡ ਦੇ 59400 ਬਲਾਕ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਿ ਬਾਅਦ ’ਚ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ’ਚ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ’ਚ ਹੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਗਿ੍ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਚਕਰਤਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਨਤਾ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ’ਚ ਇੰਟੀਗ੍ਰੇਟਡ ਹੋਮੀਸਾਈਡ ਇਨਵੈਸੀਗੇਸ਼ਨ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਪ ’ਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫਰੈਜ਼ਰ ਵੈਲੀ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਡਿਟੈਚਮੈਂਟ, ਬੀ. ਸੀ. ਕਾਰਨਰਜ਼ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟੀਗ੍ਰੇਟਡ ਫੋਰੈਂਸਿਕ ਆਈਡੈਂਟੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
ਇਸ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਚਕਰਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦੇ ਸਾਰਜੈਂਟ ਟਿਮੋਥੀ ਪਿਓਰੋਟੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘‘ਹੋਪ ਆਰ. ਸੀ. ਐਮ. ਪੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ’ਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹੋਵੇ।
